Welcome to Technology
A student is required to take 40 weeks of technology during their 3 year stay in the Middle School. They will have 20 weeks of technology in 6th grade, 10 weeks of technology in 7th grade and 10 weeks of technology in 8th grade.
The topics that will covered in this 20 week class are as follows

• History of Computers
• Understanding Computer Components
• The Internet
• Research and Writing
• Introduction to Spreadsheets
• Computer Ethics
• Problem Solving

Their grade will be determined based upon the following weighted scale;
Computer projects and Activities 60%
Tests and Worksheets 30%
Homework and other outside activities 10%

For your student to be able to participate in the Introduction to the Internet, you and your child need to read, sign and return a copy of the districts Internet appropriate use policy. This policy will be distributed in class to be brought home and signed.

(1) pen / pencil
(2) Notebook: section of three ring note book or spiral notebook.
