Memory: RAM - Random Access Memory - This is the part of the computers memory that is used to operate software and provides storage space for documents you are currently working on. This memory space is only TEMPORARY. For example, say you were typing a report on the computer. Suddenly your little brother (sister) ran by the computer and mistakenly unplugged it. What you were working on would be lost because your report was being stored in the computer's RAM as you were working on it. Different computers
have different amounts of RAM. The RAM is rated in Megabytes. (1 Megabyte
= 1,000,000 Bytes of information (Refer
to Bytes Page for more info) The larger the RAM memory you have the
more things you can hold or do all at one time when using your computer.
