Software
(also known as "computer program", "program" or "code")

The computer has few capabilities unless you tell it what to do. The way you tell the computer what to do is by loading Software into the computer's memory which intern tells the computer what to do.

The term Software describes a single, or complex list of instructions used by the computer to acomplish specific tasks.

Software can be split into two main types - system software and application software or application programs. System software is any software required to support the execution of application programs but which is not specific to any particular application.

Examples:
Operating Sytem Software: Windows, Mac OSX

Application Software: Microsoft Word, Internet Explorer
