The Web Browser Navigation Bar

If You Just Got Here!

To help you to get around a website, the web browser software has built in navigation buttons. This page is the first page in a sequence so the Back button and Forward buttons are not active.

Click on the next button to the right and go to the second page.

If you just returned from the second page!
You can now see that the Back button is not active because this is where you started. You can't go back any further. The Forward button is active because the web browser remembers where you came from. So to get there you would have to click the forward button.
